Crondon Park Wedding Photographer for Donna and James
Donna and James chose Crondon Park in Essex for their wedding on the 7th September 2012. I was particularly looking forward to photographing Donna’s wedding as I have know Donna from when she first started her career as a hairdresser. She still has the unenviable task of regularly trying to tame my ungainly locks! The day she got married also happened to be my birthday. So there was no way I could forget as her Crondon Park wedding photographer could I?
Crondon Park wedding photographer
Our wedding took place at St Laurence church, Blackmore followed by a reception at Crondon Park Golf Club, Stock. I grew up in Blackmore and was the only place I’ve ever wanted to get married. My family have lived in the same village for over 100 years I’d always wanted a vaulted barn for a reception so Crondon park was perfect and not too far from the church to travel.
Wedding ideas came from weddings we had been to and researching different ideas online to make our wedding unique to us.
Do you have any advice for future brides?
It’s your day so have exactly what you want not what others think you should have also invite who you want to invite not who your told you should be invited take time out on the day for just you and your new husband because you will have hardly any time together alone. Enjoy the planning as well as the day research prices for everything and barter if you can set a realistic budget.
My something old, blue and borrowed was my mums garter which she wore on her wedding day 31 years ago and of course my something new was my dress.
My dress had a corset top with a full skirt. I always wanted a huge wedding dress but when I tried the fullest one on in the shop it was too overpowering.
I love the sparkly detail scattered on my dress it wasn’t too over the top bling.
Where did James get his morning suit?
He hired his suit from David’s formal hire in Elm Park.
What was your colour scheme and did you have any kind of theme for your wedding?
Our colour scheme was Cadbury’s purple and our theme was hearts.
Our wedding cake was made by Melanie ferris cakes, we had 3 tiers all of which were heart shaped to keep with the theme.
We had two tiers of sponge and one tier of fruit.
What was your favourite photograph and why did you like it?
My favourite photograph is the one where we were in the middle of a corn field (yes we walked across a field) I’d always wanted to sit on top of a bale of straw in my wedding dress but unfortunately the farmer was one day late so we had two trees in the background and cut corn under foot where Gavin (our photographer) thought nothing of laying down on the spikes of the freshly cut corn to get the best shot of the day.
Did you buy each other a wedding present?
Yes, I surprised James by booking the Three Waiters who I must say were amazing and one of the many highlights of our day…!
James surprised me with a trip to Dubai which we went the day after our wedding, as you can imagine I was very shocked.
We were very lucky to have had a very smooth running day… To pick out one supplier would be very difficult if I had to narrow it down I would say Gavin our photographer went the extra mile… I presumed we would have a few photos taken before the wedding then a few after the ceremony then a few at the reception in fact we ended up with over 700 images to choose from for our album… that was a tough decision with sooo many fantastic shots, we would thoroughly recommend him Gavin was very professional at all times.
Absolutely and would definitely recommend him. I’m a great believer in you get what you pay for Gavin was fantastic on every level.
If you are getting married at Crondon Park or any other wedding venue in Essex or beyond please don’t hesitate to get in touch to see if I am available on your date.
